GOLDEN EAGLE FESTIVAL AND REAL HUNTING TOUR ITINERARY WESTERN MONGOLIA 7 DAYS PACKAGE IN 2024
The Golden Eagle Festival is an annual celebration of the ancient art of eagle hunting that takes place in Western Mongolia. This festival is a unique and unforgettable experience that offers a glimpse into a way of life that has remained unchanged for centuries.
Day 1. / Oct 4th / Fly from UB to Ulgii Welcomed by our team short town instruction visit local bazaar souvenir shops. See Kazakh tradition concert and listen to throat singer overnight in Hotel
Day 2-3 / Oct 5th – Oct 6th / Eagle festival days. 1st day Eagle festival opening ceremony and after the festival traditional concert in Local theatre 2nd day continue eagle festival local traditional games on this day ending with it’s closing ceremony overnight hotel. / B+L+D /
Day 4 / Oct 7th / Start driving to Tolbo village where we will be hosting for the next couple days. On our way we will stop by Tolbo lake. It’s freshwater lake about 45 km south of Ulgii it is high 2080m Tolbo lake is also known as 100 kazan / 100 pots /. The reason why is the lake has 100 deep places that are just like pots. The lake covers 185 square kilometers of Land. Arrive at Kazakh eagle hunters family. Now it’s time to experience the REAL hunting with eagles on your own along with other eagle hunters. And have welcome nomadic five finger’s ceremony sing song with locals and other members of the trip. Overnight in nomadic family house rooms and/or share yurts with other guests.
Day 5 / Oct 8th / Start real hunting activities today. There are at least 3 eagle hunters with their horses.Trying to hunt with eagles for some kind of animals / Fox, rabbit, mountain cat / etc. Everyone will be on the horses and cars will accompany us in case someone will want to jump in the vehicles and follow the crew overnight same family.
Day 6 / Oct 9th / Continue real hunting activities today late afternoon drive back to Ulgii overnight hotel.
Day 7 / Oct 10th / Fly out of Ulgii or Khovd to UB end of Golden eagle festival tour.
